Malaysia is one of the most delicious and affordable places in eat in the world. Spring rolls are a traditional favourite.
- In a large bowl, mix together the pork mince, bamboo shoots, garlic, mushrooms, chilli, shallots, five spice, fish and soy sauces.
- Place a sheet of spring roll pastry on a flat surface. Spoon filling along one end and roll pastry around filling, folding in the ends as you roll. Repeat with remaining mixture and pastry.
- Heat 5cm of oil in a large saucepan and cook spring rolls in batches until golden and crisp.
- Serve spring rolls with your favourite dipping sauce. You can also add chopped prawns to this mixture, as well as water chestnuts and vermicelli noodles.
