Late last year UK River Cottage head chef Gill Meller launched his first independent cookbook, Gather, to huge acclaim.
A fan of simple, seasonal cooking and an integral member of Hugh Fearnley Whittingstall’s team for the past 11 years, Gill is now heading our way for what promises to be a real treat of a weekend – part of the cookbook’s New Zealand launch.
Gather with Gill Meller, June 2-4, at The Farm at Cape Kidnappers has got it all for River Cottage fans. On Friday night there’s an informal fireside reading of the cookbook with Gill over a glass of wine; next day there’s a visit to The Farm’s gardens to gather produce for a cooking class where Gill will demonstrate how to prepare some of his favourite (achievable) dishes.
And in the evening, there’s a five course gourmet tasting menu based on recipes from the book, matched to Hawke’s Bay’s Alpha Domus wines. For more, capekidnappers.com
