Hawaiian tuna poke
( SERVES 8 )
Try this for a great way to turn fresh fish into an easy snack. Serves 8-12 as a snack.
|1||Spring onion, finely chopped|
|2 tsp||Sesame oil|
|2 tsp||Soy sauce|
|1 Tbsp||Sambal olek|
|1||Lime, zest of|
|450 g||Tuna, very fresh, or salmon, diced.|
|2 Tbsp||Kemiri (candlenuts), crushed, or use macadamia nuts|
|1 to serve||Seaweed, toasted, or sesame seeds|
|1 to serve||Pita bread, to make freshly baked pita chips.|
- In a bowl combine spring onion, sesame oil, soy sauce, sambal olek, and the lime zest.
- Grate enough fresh ginger to squeeze 1 Tbsp of juice into the mix.
- Add tuna (or salmon) and candlenuts or macadamia nuts. Combine and chill.
- Serve sprinkled with toasted seaweed or sesame seeds on freshly baked pita chips.
