Golden pear parcels
4 pears 8 pieces crystallised ginger 1 sheet sweet short pastry 2 tablespoons chopped crystallised ginger Peel pears. Using an apple corer or small sharp knife, remove cores from the base of the whole
Golden syrup sauce
- Peel pears. Using an apple corer or small sharp knife, remove cores from the base of the whole pears. Place two pieces of ginger in each pear cavity.
- Cut pastry into four even sized pieces. Place a pear base side down in the middle of each pastry piece. Mould pastry around pear and stand on a baking tray.
- Bake at 190 degrees C for 30 minutes. Serve warm with Golden Syrup Sauce and sprinkle with chopped ginger.
- To make goldensyrup sauce: Heat golden syrup, lemon juice and butter together.
