Ingredients

½ cup Flour
1 Tbsp Icing sugar
1 tsp Cream of tartar
1 tsp Baking soda
1 tsp Cinnamon
½ cup Milk
1 Apple
1 Egg
225 g Canned sliced pineapple
1 dash Oil

Directions

  1. Sift flour, icing sugar, cream of tartar, baking soda and cinnamon into a bowl. Make a well in the centre.
  2. Beat milk and egg together. Stir into flour mixture until a smooth batter.
  3. Peel apple and remove core. Cut apple into rings. Drain pineapple and pat dry on paper towels. Heat oil in a saucepan. Dip pineapple and apple rings into batter, stirring batter each time before dipping fruit slices.
  4. Fry fritters in hot oil until golden. Drain on paper towels and sift over icing sugar. Serve immediately with ice-cream.
