Real chocolate crackles
( SERVES 12 )
- Place chocolate(coarsely chopped) and Kremelta in a heatproof bowl and place over a saucepan of simmering water or microwave for 2 to 3 minutes to melt.
- Stir the puffed rice into the melted chocolate mixture. Mix well to coat cereal in chocolate.
- Place spoonfuls in paper cases and leave to set. Decorate with silver cachous, if desired.
Tip: You can use chocolate melts instead of chopped chocolate, if preferred.
Tip: You will find Kremelta, a vegetable shortening, in the baking section of the supermarket.
Tip: Patterned paper cases are now available as well as the more familiar plain ones.
Tip: Silver cachous, also known as silver balls, are very tiny, silver-coloured lollies. Look for them in the baking section of the supermarket.
