Chewy date and walnut bars
- Heat oven to 160 deg C fan bake. Grease a 17 x 27cm slice tin and line with nonstick baking paper, with an overhang on all sides.
- Place eggs, sugar and vanilla in a bowl and beat for 5 minutes or until pale and fluffy. Stir in flour, then stir in whole dates (pitted), walnuts (chopped into pieces) and chocolate chips just enough to combine. Spread mixture into prepared tin.
- Bake for 35 minutes or until firm and golden brown. Cool in the tin and cut into bars while still warm.
