Barbecue Bolognaise Sauce
Cooking on the barbecue eliminates kitchen smells and a lot of the cleanup!
- Heat a barbecue hotplate, drizzle with oil, then add onion and beef mince and cook over a medium heat for 10 minutes, tossing regularly until browned.
- Add garlic (chopped) and cook for 1 minute more. Remove mince to one side of the hotplate.
- Add tomatoes (cubed) and cook for 5 minutes, tossing regularly until liquid is reduced and tomatoes are browned.
- Season mince and tomatoes with salt and pepper and scatter with oregano. Serve with hot, cooked spaghetti on the side.
Tip: For best results in mince recipes, try to use fresh minced meat. If using frozen mince, always thaw before cooking. Frozen mince is best reserved for use in casseroles when stronger flavours can be added as seasoning.
