Candied peanuts are the perfect appetiser. Nuts are a light snack so they won't leave your guests with no room for the main course! Try walnuts, macadamias or a mixture of nuts for a bit of variation.
- In a wide, heavy frying pan, mix the peanuts with the sugar and water. Cook the ingredients over moderate heat. Stir frequently, until the liquid dries up.
- Using a metal spoon, keep stirring and scraping the pan over a low heat until the peanuts are golden brown.
- Remove from the heat and then sprinkle with salt and cinnamon.
- Toss nuts for a further 5 minutes as they cool.
