Date and cheese scones
- Preheat oven to 220C.
- Sift the flour into a bowl. Grate butter into flour and rub in with fingertips until the scone mixture resembles breadcrumbs.
- Mix in dates and grated tasty chedder cheese. Make a well in the middle of the mixture and add milk and water. Using a knife, quickly mix to a soft dough.
- Turn dough out onto a lightly floured surface and gently roll into a rectangle. Cut into six scones and place on a cold oven tray.
- Bake for 12 minutes until golden.
