Vegetarian chickpea burgers
These delicious burgers are not only tasty, they're also filling, healthy and completely meat free.
- Blend chickpeas, chilli sauce and egg to form a smooth paste. Stir in breadcrumbs, spring onions and coriander or parsley. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
- With floured hands, form the mixture into four flat, even-sized patties. Heat oil in a non-stick frying pan and cook patties for 2 to 3 minutes on each side until golden brown.
- Toast the burger buns under a hot grill. Arrange spinach leaves on the bun bases, place patties on top, then add tomato, cucumber and chutney. Serve immediately.
