There is something very homely about the process of making jam. You can experiment with your favourite flavours, like this delicious combination of rhubarb, strawberry and banana.
- Gently heat blackberries until they come to the boil, add sugar and stir until dissolved.
- Bring to the boil again and leave to cook over a moderate heat without stirring until jam reaches setting stage.
- Pour into sterilised jars and seal when cold.
Tip: Berry jams can usually be made with equal quantities of sugar and fruit.
