The ingredients list for this recipe is short, the method simple and the result is instant. It is so easy to make your own tortillas that there is no need to buy them packaged. Makes 10
- Combine flour, salt and baking powder in a bowl. Rub in butter until mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
- Make a well in the centre and pour in water. Mix to a soft dough and then tip out onto a lightly floured surface and knead for 1 minute until the dough comes together.
- Divide dough into 10 balls and roll out into flat discs about 20cm in diameter.
- Heat a heavy based frying pan over a medium-high heat and cook the tortillas one at a time until they start to colour and blister on both sides.
