( MAKES 10 )
A packet of frankfurters and a sheet of flaky pastry are all you need here. These are nicest served hot or warm. You can quickly warm them through on a heated barbecue plate, but take care not to burn them. Serve with tomato sauce.
- Preheat oven to 200C fan bake and line a baking tray with baking paper for easy clean-up.
- Cut pastry into 2-3cm-wide strips. If using mustard, spread a little onto each strip. Wrap around frankfurters, leaving a little space between each turn of the spiral, and place on the prepared baking tray. Brush pastry with egg.
- Bake until puffed, golden and warmed through (about 20 minutes). Serve hot or warm.
