We used this compote to fill this jam roly poly but it is just as good on scones or pikelets.
- Simmer tamarillos with the orange or lemon zest and juice, the honey, bay leaf and star anise until jammy.
- Remove spices, and strain mixture through sieve.
- Add strawberry jam (or your favourite type), mix and chill.
