Creamy Gratin Potatoes Cauliflower Carrots and Bacon

This is one of my partner's favorite dish and a family recipe. It can be make at any occasion. It can be a side dish or a complete dish that all the family ll fall in love with ... with a very yummy french recipe cheese sauce. Cheap gourmet plate , easy to make and enough for a family of 4 2 adults/2 teenagers or 2 adults/2 kids or 4 adults.

Ingredients

6 medium Baked potatoes, Cut in slice
1 large Cauliflower, cut into in small pieces
1 medium Carrot, cut in cube
6 slices Streaky bacon
2½ cups Cheddar cheese
1 tsp Salt
1 tsp Pepper

Cheese Sauce

3 Tbsp Flour, all purpose flour
½ tsp Salt
2 cups Milk
1½ cups Cheddar cheese

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 200 C. Cut out stem and core from cauliflower and cut into small pieces. Cut the carrots in cube. Cook in large pot of boiling salted water until the cauliflower is tender and the carrots cooked but not overly soft. Cook in the oven Bacon until very crispy.
  2. Layer the potatoes sliced into bottom of dish. Top with the cauliflowers, carrots and bacon and put some cheese repeat the same process until the top of the dish season with salt and pepper to taste.
  3. In a medium size saucepan , melt butter over medium heat. Mix the flour and salt, and stir constantly with a whisk for one minute. Stir in milk. Cook until mixture has thickened. Stir in cheese all at once, and continue stirring until melted, about 30 to 60 seconds. Pour cheese all over the dish.
  4. Bake 1 hour and half at 200 C.
