Orange infused beef cheeks

Perfect to put on before heading off for the day and getting home to an aroma filled house and tucking into a some delicious beef cheeks that just melt in the mouth.

Ingredients

500 g Beef cheeks, trimmed
500 ml Red wine
4 cloves Cloves
4 cloves Garlic, crushed
2 medium Carrots, diced
2 stalks Celery, diced
2 medium Onions, diced
3 Tbsp Tamari sauce
2 Bay leaves
5 Black peppercorns
1 Tbsp Brown sugar
100 ml Port, if available
1 Orange zest

Directions

  1. Coat the beef checks in flour and seal in a fry pan (keep in large pieces)
  2. Place all ingredients in a slow cooker and place on low for 6-8 hours.
  3. Drain cooking liquid into a pot and reduce for about 15 minutes.
  4. Serve beef and reduced liquid over a mashed vegetable. Enjoy!
