Frozen meat: how to thaw
Do not thaw meat on the bench at room temperature – ever! You’re setting yourself up for all sorts of nasties – and the cat is only one of them. The trick with doing it in the fridge is to allow plenty of time. Instead of taking it out before work or forgetting entirely, take it out before you go to bed the night before. Also, most microwaves do have a defrost option, but do it very slowly or it will start cooking and you don’t want that.
