Bakels Supreme Pie Awards: The winners
Love a good pie? Here's where to go to buy the best in the country
You'll need to head to Tauranga to treat yourself to the best pie in New Zealand this year and, no, it's not mince and cheese. For the second time, Patrick Lam of Goldstar Patrick's Pies has taken the Supreme Award for a bacon and egg beauty at the Bakels NZ Supreme Pie Awards. Patrick first won the top prize for this Kiwi picnic classic back in 2010. Even more impressively, this is the fifth time the former Cambodian refugee has now taken the Supreme Award for one of his pies.
More than 5000 entries were received for the 2016 competition, now in its 20th year. See below for the full list of winners, announced in Auckland on July 26.
